Orta Festival - 18th Edition

From 7th to 28th July, the spectacular Lago d’Orta will host the 18th edition of the Orta Festival

Not only a cultural event putting a spotlight upon a charming territory, but an international stage whose distinctive feature is the promotion of talent the support of young musicians.
Keeping the standards high and enriching its programme: this is the objective of the 18th Orta Festival, which will include 9 concerts offering music ranging from Baroque to Contemporary repertoire with ensembles going from the soloist to the big orchestra. There will be 4 monographic concerts: the first one devoted to Gustav Mahler with the performance of his first Symphony, “Der Titan”, in the version for 15 instruments written by the young British composer Iain Farrington (a “first” for the Italian audience!).
After that, a due homage to Claudio Monteverdi, on the occasion of his 450th birthday: the so-called “Contrafacta” madrigals will be performed by the celebrated Collegium vocale et instrumentale “Nova Ars Cantandi” conducted by Giovanni Acciai, one of the world’s best known vocal ensembles for this repertoire.
Another unmissable event is the concert traditionally devoted to Bach’s music feat. the great guitarist Emanuele Segre.
Finally, an all-Chopin recital feat. the young Italian star Alessandro Taverna. The festival will also boast the presence of the great Serbian pianist Aleksandar Madžar, renowned for his delicacy and innocence combined with his impeccable interpretation of each score.
Part of the programme is a cross-over concert by two very popular musicians: saxophonist Mario Marzi and accordionist Simone Zanchini. A special event worth highlighting is the one featuring the Canino-Ballista piano duo, this year celebrating 60 years of continuous activity.
Great string ensembles will feature in the festival’s final concerts, starting with the Zaïde quartet, a true revelation in France, who will flank Raffaella Damaschi in the unusual performance of a Kammerkonzert by Mozart (a piano concerto in the original version with string quartet), followed by the magnificent cello of Enrico Bronzi leading a sextet made up of friends for a magical closing concert feat. amazing music by Bach, Strauss and Brahms on the beautiful San Giulio Island.

This year again, FAZIOLI will be technical partner of the festival.

January to May 2017
Teatro Verdi, Pordenone
Fazioli Concert Hall, Sacile
Club Kristalia, Prata di Pordenone

Three different venues and five exclusive concerts where the piano plays the leading role.

Internationally renowned pianists and a project featuring three Italian jazz talents on stage of the Fazioli Concert Hall in a six hands concert! Piano Jazz is coming back with an “extended” sixth edition full of interesting surprises. Five concerts featuring big names of the international jazz scene will bring to life a „travelling“ concert series taking place on three completely different stages in a fusion between musical and entrepreneurial excellences of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region.

The concert series starts on January, 21st at Teatro Verdi in Pordenone with one oft he most compelling pianists of his generation: the Estonian Kristjan Randalu. Sought-after soloist, composer and arranger, his music is defined by Jazz Time “an "unnameable exotic land“. Randalu, who boasts collaborations with the greatest artists inthe international jazz scene, creatively blends jazz and classical music with an original touch, always so clear and precise, warmed by the flame of his passion for music and a falmboyant creativity.

On Friday, 17th February, at Fazioli Concert Hall it’s the turn of a unique project feat. Mirko Signorile, Giovanni Guidi and Claudio Filippini, renowned as three of the best Italian piano talents. The music of the three pianists, who will be playing on stage simultaneously, will make up a contemporary piece, a sound vision of the piano in the 21st century. This unquestionably original concert will be recorded by Arte Suono.

Always at Fazioli Concert Hall, on Friday, April 7th, the Swedish double-bassist Lars Danielsson and the Martiniquan pianist Grégory Privat will perform in Danielsson’s most famous project, Liberetto. One of today’s most important jazz voices, Danielsson has a broad approach to jazz, with classical intrusions and enriched with pop elements. Privat, considered a “rising star” by jazz experts, has been a member of the Liberetto quartet since 2015.

The fourth concert will be hosted by Club Kristalia in Prata di Pordenone on Friday, 5th May and will see Tord Gustavsen performing piano solo. The Norwegian pianist and composer, whose touch is minimalist and intimate, has released 7 albums for ECM Records with his ensemble and trio. His tours brought him all over the world and his music has been met by a huge volume of critical approval.

A latin jazz project will close the concert series on Friday, 12th May, at Teatro Verdi in Pordenone. Another exclusive concert featuring Aruan Ortiz’s Trio (Aruan Ortiz on piano, Brad Jones on double bass and Gerald Cleaver on drums). Named by BET Jazz “the latest Cuban wunderkind to arrive in the United States“, Ortiz is among the most interesting personnalities in the contemporary piano scene. Internationally renowned producer, teacher and composer, his musical style is a fusion between his training as a classical musician and his Afro-Cuban roots.

The Music begins here

January 19 - 22, 2017, Anaheim Convention Centre, Anaheim CA - USA

We are glad to invite you to visit the FAZIOLI booth at the NAMM Show 2017, Anaheim, CA (USA), on January 19–22, 2017.

Connecting your market with every other music and sound segment in the industry, The NAMM Show is the must-attend event of the year. Last year, a record 101,726 attendees explored products from more than 1,700 exhibitors showcasing over 6,000 brands. Plus, attendees were able to choose from 120+ educational sessions and more than 150 networking events.

Join us and try the three "jewels" of the FAZIOLI collection that will be exhibited at the Lounge88, booth nr. 318: the F212 grand piano (cm 212 - 7 foot), the F228 model (cm 228 - 7 feet 6 inches), and the new generation F278 concert grand (9 feet 2 inches), provided with the newly patented FAZIOLI action.

Conceived by the FAZIOLI R&D Department in order to achieve a global improvement of all the piano performative aspects, the newly patented FAZIOLI action is aimed in particular at being less sensitive to moisture or other weather agents, which could damage the operability and the acoustics of the piano itself. In its new conception, the action rail structure consists of a hollow section made in aluminum, filled with a wooden multilayer.
Among the positive consequences are: a notable decrease in the action weight and an important increase in its solidity and resistance.
A further positive result is that the pianist can feel a greater smoothness of touch and better homogeneity across the keyboard, which is extremely responsive, thus enabling them to generate an optimal sound and a more beautiful timbre.

Badge registration and the opportunity to book your hotel is now open for all NAMM members. The non-member badge application is also currently open.
